Where is Share located?
Share is in the back of the McLean Baptist Church, Door # 8, 1367 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22101. The main entrance to Share is at door #8.
What are the hours of the food & clothing pantry?
The pantry is open on most Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 12:00 for all registered clients.
On the first and third Thursday of every month, the pantry is open to senior citizens from 9:30 – 11:30 am.
What services does Share provide?
Share of McLean is dedicated to helping low- and moderate-income residents alleviate food, clothing, and shelter insecurities through a core set of programs:

How often can I visit the food & clothing pantry?
Registered clients can visit the pantry twice a month.
How can I register for Share services?
Share provides support to neighbors within the zip codes of 22101, 22102, 22066, and a portion of 22043. If you need assistance, please contact Share directly at (703) 229-1414 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
You many also register on site at the Share pantry on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, 9:30 – 12:00. Please see the GET HELP page for the documentation you will need to bring.
Does Share deliver to my home?
No, clients must come to the pantry during opening days.

What clothing is appropriate to donate?
Share accepts gently used clothing for women, men, and children. Because we have limited space, please only donate clothes that are in-season (i.e., shorts in the summer, coats in the winter).
Share always needs NEW underwear and socks for all ages and genders.
Does Share accept linens and towels?
Yes, we accept gently used bed sheets & comforters, bath & kitchen towels, and blankets. Please mark the size of the items (e.g., twin, queen, king) as appropriate.
Can I donate a computer?
Share accepts new and used laptops with current Windows 10 or 11 software for our neighbors in need. We cannot accept laptops older than 5 years or printers.

Does Share accept gift card donations?
Definitely! Share accepts gift cards from local grocery stores (Giant, Safeway, Lidl) and retail stores (Walmart, Target) preferably in increments of $25.00. Please contact email@example.com to arrange for delivery and receipt of your gift cards.
Does Share accept seasonal items?
Share accepts seasonal items like Halloween costumes and winter coats & gloves. However, because our storage space is limited, we ask that you donate during that season.
Does Share accept shoes?
Yes, Share accepts gently used shoes and boots for men, women, and children. Please tie or bind the shoes together and mark the size (e.g., mens size 10, womens size 7).
Where can I drop off food and clothing donations?
Donations can be brought directly to Share at the McLean Baptist Church on Wednesday and Saturdays from 9:30 AM – 12:00 noon when the pantry is open (see calendar for opening dates).
Donations can also be placed in the storage bins outside Share’s main entrance (Door #8) of the McLean Baptist Church at any time. Our volunteers empty the sheds daily.
Do you accept fresh produce?
Yes! Fresh produce is frequently requested by our clients. Please drop off your donations when the Food Pantry is open on Wednesday or Saturday mornings or contact Share at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an alternate time.
What baby items can I donate?
Diapers and wipes are always welcome. Gently used baby clothes, bibs, and small baby toys are also appreciated.
Does Share accept furniture?
Share accepts basic furniture suitable for a small apartment. Share does not have a warehouse to accept furniture for drop-off. Please see the Furniture page to arrange a pick-up.
Do I have to register in advance to volunteer or can I just show up?
The volunteer sign up form is available for all positions that are open. Please see the volunteer page for what is currently available.
What are some of the activities that a large group of volunteers can do?
There are several things that groups can do to help. Please see the volunteer page for more details on:
Hosting a food, clothing, or toiletry drive
Purchasing and assembling Power Packs for school age children
Creating gift bags of most asked for items
